The International Military Krav-Maga organization (IMKM) was established in 2008 by Amit Porat and Ravid Schimko, together have over 40 years of experience in martial arts, training thousands of people, dealing with security, army and civilians. The IMKM training method is unique and combines a variety of martial arts. It uses the principles of Krav Maga to explore the natural human movement and behaviour to find the most simple, effective and fastest ways to solve the hostile situation. The method allows the trainee to reach a high level of knowhow to cope in stressful situations, in a relatively short time IMKM has been developed to assist the police force, army units, and security units of all levels who have to deal with different kind of realities from a civilian. The basic difference is that a civilian can choose to avoid certain situations, whereas the security units of all kinds have to deal with a given situation, neutralize the danger, using reasonable force, while still obeying the law. Our agenda is “if its looks good it’s not necessarily effective”, so we try to ensure that all our techniques are held of the same state of mind, and most of them are used in our daily jobs as a security and military instructors. Our techniques are also developed from feedback we receive from security officers, based on their experiences. It was quite an adventure exploring the streets of Valencia. I was further inspired to compose this tune “Valencia” as a homage to Spain’s third-largest city.
