Richard Dawkins delivers a wonderful speech at the University of Valencia in Spain. Dawkins received the “Honoris Causa” degree, for his contributions on evolution and other scientific fields. This is just one of many Darwin 2009 commemorations.

Obama isn’t a scientist but he’s clearly a great leader. I think you mean critically thinking people instead of deeply religious folks like Bin Laden, Blair, Dubyah, etc. I don’t think scientists make the best politicians. They’d get terribly corrupted with in-fighting, conspiracies and god knows what else. And I also think that politics shouldn’t be limited to smart people. Ordinary folks can do pretty well too and can be humble about the duties of office. Motive is important.
